When Louisa was born in 1827 in Montezuma, Georgia. Her father, Scott _____, was 35, and her mother, Tabby _____, was 40. They were all slaves owned by John William DEVERUX and his son, Julien Sidney DEVEREUX.
In 1848, Louisa was married to Jencey _____'s son, Martin _____. She was court ordered and taken by Julien Sidney DEVEREUX’s sister, Louisiana Holcomb DEVEREUX, to live on the HOLCOMBE Plantation in Marshall, TEXAS. After leaving Rusk County, TEXAS, Louisa and Martin never got back together. Louisa died childless, broken-hearted and alone in Marshall, leaving Martin to be a widower.
